OMG THIS TOOK FOREVER.

It's really big, biggest I've ever painted w/ watercolor: 12"x16" (or rather, 16x12)

This was based off of a oil pastel drawing I did while participating in a lead meditation designed to help one connect with the spirit. The idea was to connect to the divine through art and poetry. It was a lot of fun, and I look forward to doing something like that again soon.

Anyway, I really liked the overall feel of the drawing, but didn't feel that it was a complete or professional piece---I don't use oil pastels very often, so it was rather rough and juvenile looking---so I decided to recreate it w/ watercolor. This is the result. ^_^

Obviously it's not exactly the same, and I ended up adding 10x more detail than the original drawing. There's lots of things hidden in there, it could be kind of like a scavenger hunt:

Dragonfly
Butterfly
Fleur De Lis
Lotus w/ Star
My signature. XD (JLG2009)

Happy hunting!

This is so nice. I agree with ~africanpearl . I like how each one is a different mood, but it all has such a lovely flow.

I love how there is interweaving lines and how each panel, if you will, has a different mood and design. I especially like how you used the colors to contrast and bring each other out- You did a very nice job with this!

Amazing work. I remember doing something similar with one of my art classes in high school. It was a blast, and I loved the results. There are so many things to see in this piece, and I love the colors.
