This was inspired by this beautiful piece by *tir-ri :
I like hers better. ;w; Seriously, I think I'd probably trade a vital organ to be able to paint like her.
Uhm... at first I debated on what to put in the center of the light, like a chalice or... something else representative of the divine or inner peace or whatever... but then I realized that it's different for all of us but it also all comes from the same source. What peace and divinity is... that's something that we are always searching for. When we are together in love and community... that's one thing that brings us closer to it. The fish being us, of course. X3

Pfff, dude, you're right *tir-ri is awesome, but OMG so are you!! This is friggin incredible!! Are you kidding?? Don't even get my started on the gradients you've got going on (and on like ever fish!), and omigosh just the sheer amount of detail is blowing my mind.
Do you have progress pics by any change? I'm curious how you did this!! It looks like it must have taken several layers, and I just can't even wrap my head around that!

Ahaha, I wish I had in progress pics... I wouldn't mind a recap of what I did! But let's see... I know I did one big wash of the bg, the really light teal into the yellow glow. and then I just started doodling fishies, utilizing the negative space... and eventually just filled up the whole page... yeah. Not very helpful, sorry, LOL

The picture comes together wonderfully as a whole! The dark/bright gradient progresses perfectly into the center and the picture itself is very endearing.
