I'm really, really proud of this. Let me start by saying that the scanner did NOT do it justice. I think I'd even go so far as to say that this is my favorite of the UU Principle Pics I've done so far...
As an illustration, it is the most complete, well balanced, and has a pleasing but unique composition. Not to mention the fact that I always surprise myself when I draw animals. XD They always come out better than I expect...
Symbolism Time:
Owl: The seeker of truth. He can do so freely because his wings let him fly. He can do so responsibly because he is wise.
Flowers: Truth and meaning. There is more than one because there is more than one truth.
The branches could also be seen as representing the fact that you can take many different paths to get to the same truth, while at the same time a single path can lead to many different truths. :3

this is simply amazing! i love owls so much too. once again i love the limited colour palette you have used and the soft way the colours blend into one another in the background. is this watercolour? and on what type of paper? sorry about all of the questions

Yes, it is watercolor---it's on 140 lb. cold press Strathmore watercolor paper. C:
Although that's not the only kind of paper I use. It's durable, accepts the paint pretty well, and is fairly cheap. Mostly I use it because I need to use it up. XD Since then I've found paper that I like better.
And I don't mind questions, I'm happy to help. :3
