6"x10": pen & ink, acrylics, and white gel pen on illustration board

This was one of those ideas that hit me in the forehead like a brick while I was comfortable in bed, and trying to go to sleep. Thankfully, despite the fact as to how tired I was, I rolled over and made a little sketch of an owl with antlers, and the antlers were somehow holding the moon, which was the sign of the triple moon goddess. Mother, maiden, crone or birth, life, death. I feel like i'm going through an artistic phase, or transformation. I know i'm going through it, but I don't know exactly what it'll become in the end. I'm really pleased at how this one turned out, even if I wasn't so happy with the background for a bit. See when working with the thin layers of acrylics, you have to keep it thin. I accidently went a little opaque with the darkest blue, and it flooded all of the layers underneath. There are tons of tones of blues underneath, along with orange, which I started out with. kind of a revised edition of "Luna Owl" [link]
