Well, I kinda saw this guy as the rough equivalent of medieval-Japan´s Darth Vader (without the emo prequel b-s). He was meant to be the top enforcer for the story´s villain, meaning the story had to go down the phantasy genre. It also means I have to do a truckloads of research on things such as medieval Japanese weapons, armor, clothing, locations, customs...not necesseraly an ehaustive research, but some homework needs to be done for accuracy sake.

Ah, right. Well true, you can't always be accurate, but it helps to get as close as you can to it, right?

Absolutely. More than look the part, it has to be the part, and this works with just about any story. The more rich and detailed the environment, the better the reaction from the audience.

That is indeed true. Of course with that also comes a higher risk of making continuity mistakes with the setting. Be careful of that now.

I kinda figured an epic tale between several feuding clans, with one of them turning to necromancy and the odd devil-summoning to gain the upper hand, and it´s up to our hero and his band of firends, a mixed bag of experienced fighters, criminals and assassins to set everything right, if they can.
Segaro is not meant to be the father of any of them.
