Interesting, maby I can do this some time.
You know all these years I never took the time to study the history of the goomba. It turns out, their not evil at all, the mushroom kingdom where toads now reside was their native land before they where conquered and thrown out, driven from their land they met the great dragon turtle bowser, who promised them their freedom in exchange for servitude as his solders. I feel bad for the poor things not having arms, because of that they can't use guns, making them inferior to their mortal enemy the toads.
To bad I can't take these refuges in. They remind me of unggoy, but with out the methane suckingΒ kill your unborn hatchlings and reproduce like fleas antics. Years of tragic life at the bottom, send on the front lines of battle unarmed and unarmored, nothing more then canon fodder. Β

This is really amazing!
What kind of wire did you use there though? It looks a bit thicker than the wires I've seen in craft stores .o.

Great tutorial. Sometimes the process is just as interesting as the final product. Both are great! This would make for a wonderful Christmas ornament. I might try that out just for the holiday!

It looks so cute! I really want to try but I have no clay. Where can I buy some?

i get mine from a local art chain store called Michael's Arts & Crafts. You can get Sculpey clay online too. If you can't find the Sculpey brand any type of clay would work, you could just paint it if its plain. That would just take more time but have the same effect. Fimo is another oven bake clay brand that I can find around here but I don't like it as much Here's a link to all kinds of polymer clay: [link] I hope you find some! If you make one I totally want to see it

I think anything with clay hates me. Whenever I pick up a light colored clay I get dust or black stuff from the other clay on it. But dunking stuff is fun.

yeah I think getting light clay dirty is inevitable that's why i sand and paint everything that's white!
very true...dunking stuff is fun

jnsun In reply to JapaneseBakaGirl [2008-07-14 21:31:49 +0000 UTC]
Thank you! You don't need to buy the tools really...a mechanical pencil does the job pretty well. Use the lead tip for the smaller details and the eraser end for the whites of the eyes.

Wow that's very cool. Well, I'm kinda new in art and I'm just wondering where do you buy these machanical pencil
π: 0 β©: 1
jnsun In reply to JapaneseBakaGirl [2008-07-15 04:26:55 +0000 UTC]
Well you can get them at a number of different places from office supply stores like Office Max to grocery stores like Krogers to art supply stores like Dick Blicks [link] <--those are the most expensive and wouldn't get them there if you want to use them for paint. I would look here [link] You can get a pack for a low price. You could always just use a regular sharpened pencil as well

I wish I would have seen this Goomba before I had made mine D:
I actually used your Goomba charms as reference and didn't notice this guide. Ah well, next time I'll know.
Here he is if you wanted to see him, I don't have sculptey clay so I needed to bend it to my will and then paint it afterwards.

Thank you. By the way I got a hold of some Sculpey clay and then made some that were more like yours. I made 8 of them and now they're necklaces. They aren't as nice as yours but I still like them.
