The character designs were very modernized in the OVA, though they kept distinct characteristics like hairstyle. I really think the redesigns worked very well with this series.

I didn't really understand what you had meant. Your original comment is pretty vague. I didn't know you were talking about what he said in the OVA vs the Manga (Or, to be more accurate, how the translator for the OVA and the translator for the manga chose to translate his words). Actually, that seems a really odd thing to comment on, as the only real differnce is tense ("My father is dead"= Present tense; "My father died"
