Bestiary artwork for Endless Realms , a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.The art director is trying to knock off a few more classic monsters she felt were missing from our bestiary. She wanted a "shadowy cloaked figure" kind of wraith, so here we are!

I think mystery and the unknowable are an under-appreciated aspect of horror. Sure, scary monsters can be awesome and scary, but sometimes it's better if it's just left up to the imagination - I think it's why Lovecraftian horror often works better if you keep it literary rather than try to give it form, because it can never quite deliver the same impact.

A wraith is very closely related to the Common Ghost. It makes a spooky moan, like a ghost would.

yes...I am still around! I have been working on some winter scenes with snowmen from the 1940's playing jazz (big band era) It has been fun and frustrating at the same time. BUT inbetween working on those pictures I still keep tabs on what you are submitting and as usual, I am blown away by your wonderful talent and creative genius!!!
