You're SO welcome! I tried to download it, but every time I try to open it, it says I can't open it, no matter which I use, be it the Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center, or Paint. But, I love it! Has any friendly chipmunk come up to you since?

To easily download it, you click on the right side of your mouse on Download, then you click on Save link as... A window of your directories and files will appear and you choose where you want it on your computer. Then you click on "save" and that's it!

Of course chipmunks still come to me but only in summertime: they are hibernating.

Excellent close-up. How long did it take you to get him/her to get that close? I have spent three years getting my little sparrows, to buzz my head, and land 1 meter from me. But my little squirrel will not come within two meters.

Good question!
The first summer I saw one, I began to allure it by throwing peanuts to her (I saw it was a female the next summer) closer and closer. But still far enough. After 3 months, she came to take one from my hand while I was laying down, my arms outstretched to the most. Awe! I was so happy! But the summer after, she came closer and closer and that was it! Then her children and family - they are clever - came towards me and they still come even if Samantha has disappeared - they live 5 to 7 years. I miss her!
Dora, if you want to allure a squirrel, offer it something to eat BUT do not look at their eyes directly (aggression) and NEVER go towards it. Stay still and just call it.
For the birds, Chickadees and nuthatches are very friendly. Take black sunflower seeds and extend your arm a little like here: Close Encounter 3rd - 09.
Call them, they will come much more easily than a squirrel.
When I took this photo - with the chipmunk - she was on my chest.
The issue is to take a decent photo at the same time, they are so fast! Be patient and good luck!

Awwww. The little human-like hands are always so cute. I don't have chipmunks around here but do have gorgeous reddish squirrels with big bushy tails. Fun to watch but I would not feel comfortable feeding them. I'm glad they survived our almost 5 year drought. It's been raining nicely this winter, so we are hoping the drought has ended and not just suspended for a while.

I suppose you live in California or next to it (your 5 year drought)? We have also the Reddish squirrels who are well fed: they are emptying my bird feeders.
Chipmunks live everywhere in North America, except for Florida. Maybe you have some but you don't see them, they are wary little animals.
