I'm a little late (it's been a busy first week of the year), but I wanted to make sure I got this out. ^_^

For some long-winded elaboration on what all of these points mean:

1. We're about halfway through Chapter 4 in My Impossible Soulmate, which is the beginning of the second arc (the first arc was the first three chapters). I think finishing two arcs would bring us to the end of Chapter 8. I don't think this is an unreasonable goal.

2. Rain Volume 7 has a longer than usual bonus chapter, so naturally, it is going to take longer than usual to get it all drawn out between MIS pages. I struggle to promise this year for sure, but I am aiming for a 2024 release. Wish me luck!

3. Writing prose was on last year's resolutions too, but I had nothing to share. I did write a little, but not until later in the year, not enough to share with anyone, and it took a very different form than I was originally planning. I am hoping to have something to show this year, but this is admittedly probably the lowest priority thing I have planned.

4. I've been promising an updated Characters page for Rain for years, but it's a slog so I keep putting it off. But people keep asking for it and I want to have it done. And I personally will feel better if it's finally done. Likewise, MIS (specifically on Comic Fury) has a placeholder called "Curriculum" . It's more or less intended as a glossary for all the fantasy jargon in the story. I think it'd be especially helpful to have that for readers to refer to as needed, but I do need to just put that together.

5. 2023 was a weird, rough year for me, and I didn't meet most of goals for that year (in fairness, a lot of it was out of my control). I'm not gonna stress about it. And I'm not gonna force myself to work harder to catch up. Historically, that's never helped. I just end up making myself anxious which makes me sloppy which makes me frustrated, and then I burn out and fall even further behind. So I'm just gonna go ahead and do what I can. I think all of these resolutions are 100% doable, but life happens and I'd rather not beat myself up about it if I can't.

6. Which means if I need breaks, I'll take breaks. You've already seen me recently take a day off from posting when I needed it. It's helped immensely. It's not like posting is difficult, but my buffer can run out fast if I'm putting up new pages while not having time to work on new ones. So I'm trying to be fair to myself. It might be a little inconvenient, but I think it will allow for a better experience for all of us (you get higher quality work, and I get less anxiety). Win, win!

As a final point, during my off-time, I like to play games and watch anime and read manga. Over the course of the year, I keep a list on my phone of everything I do. And at the end of the year for the last several years, I tend to do a wrap up sharing everything I did while highlighting my favorites. I'll probably continue to do that at the end of this year and beyond, but I'd love to give everything I enjoy a little more time in the spotlight (I like experiencing a lot of kinds of stories, but I don't always get to talk about a lot of it). So I might like to try using social media to, you know, socialize a bit more, and share my thoughts on what I watch, read, and play over the year.

And I'll keep it to Twitter , Mastodon , and Bluesky to avoid cluttering the comic sites, but if you're interested in my media opinions/recommendations, make sure to follow me in at least one of those spaces.
