Ooh, something different two days in a row. ^_^A little while back, I asked people what they would want to see if I drew something that WASN'T Rain for once. A lot of people suggested Pokemon. I decided it sounded well enough, and I went to work. The original plan was that I was going to draw myself as a trainer alongside my kickass (postgame) Black 2 team, but I've learned that I absolutely SUCK at drawing most of them. So, I tried a different perspective. Humanizing them. Lots of people do this. It was kind of a first for me though.
Above, we have my party (from left to right):
Chandelure ♂
Chandelure is such a dignified chap. As the only obvious male in the party, I wanted to make him stand out as such. But for some reason, I got hung up on the thought that he'd maybe be really short. So, I dunno. Maybe he's just short. Or maybe he's a rich kid or something.
Magnezone
Since Magnezone is actually genderless, I decided to go for a very androgynous look. You could just as easily be looking at femmy boy or a tomboyish girl. Personally, Magnezone here has my favorite human design out of the lot of them. The Pokemon's design has a lot of little intracacies that just translated really well in the conversion.
Dragonite ♀
Unfortunately, Dragonite was REALLY had to work with. On the opposite end of the spectrum from Magnezone, this Pokemon really has very few notable features. I mean, I like it, but it's really just an orange dragon. As such, I had to take the most liberties with this one, and I have to be honest, I'm not totally happy with it.
Gardevoir ♀
Gardevoir is kinda funny in that it's very humanoid to begin with. As it is, not much needs to change in oder to humanize it. These alterations at least keep the super classy look of the original Pokemon (which is one of the big reasons I like Gardevoir so much).
Milotic ♀
According to old Pokedex entry, Milotic is said to be the most beautiful of all the Pokemon. I don't think this lives up to it. I can't begin to claim that my art is worthy of dubbing her the most beautiful human. However, I don't necessarily think her ugly either.
Glaceon ♀
Glaceon is the smallest Pokemon in my team, so I made her the smallest (perhaps youngest?) human in the group as well. Personally, I dig the kimono. As an aside, I have the darnedest notion to ship her with Chandelure. What an odd thought.

Cool post-game team. The Magnezone looks the coolest. And props on getting a female Glaceon; they're a lot rarer than male ones!

Heh. I spent hours roaming around the tiny patch of grass that you can (very rarely) catch Eevees at trying to find a female one to make into a Glaceon later (because I wanted it to be female for no good reason). It's honestly made me exceptionally proud of my Glaceon, as it was probably the hardest to acquire out of all of them.
Before beating the game, my team consisted of:

- Sigilyph
- Flygon
- Samurott
- Lucario

This is both a really cool party and a great picture. I'd say my favorite of the six would be Dragonite and you've given her an awesome design (the liberties you made work really well). Also I find it funny that you gave Glaceon a kimono since she was the option I choose for my starter's evolution in Pokemon Conquest and that fits the theme/time period of that game .
I'm also tempted to ask what a Sandslash would look like in this style, but I won't be greedy ^_^

it looks pretty well drawn except some of them look a little
'too' much like humans, i know they're supposed to be humanized but if you weren't given the fact then you might not recognize it, but that only applies to some of them, gardevoir, milotic, and glaceon are pretty clear

This is awesome! When you mentioned that you were looking to do something that wasn't Rain, I was hoping to see something Pokemon-related!
Since I knew their identities would be listed below the picture, I tried to identify each one before scrolling down. Gardevoir and Glaceon were rather obvious, and I was also able to get Dragonite. Milotic, I should have gotten... I recognized the tail fin, but I couldn't place it! As for Chandelure and Magnezone, I honestly never would have guessed either.
Now, a look at each one:
Chandelure: It's glasses match its eyes! Clever! If it'd had anything fire-related, I probably would've guessed it. I raised a Chandelure on my Black team, and it's easily one of my favorite among the Gen V flock.
Magnezone: I love how you worked in the red-and-blue, both in the hair and the gloves. At first, I placed it as solidly female, although looking back, I see the androgyny in the design.
Dragonite: You and Aunt Fara share Pokemon preferences, I see. The hair effect tipped me off, but in all honesty, her (awesome) jacket is telling as well. Its prevolutions are among my personal favorites, design-wise.
Gardevoir: It's as graceful, mysterious, and elegant as ever! While humanoid to begin with, this version has actual human proportions. I've raised several Gardevoir before... come to think of it, I should get one in Black version.
Milotic: I like how you transformed the body design into a dress. But Lynn, it's missing ridiculously-long eyebrows! 
Glaceon: She's very cute; her shortness, and her hairstyle, do lend themselves to an appearance of youth. Fair warning, though - I don't think the Day Care Couple will let you ship her with Chandelure!
Random final note: a friend of mine recently drew my Black 2 Team (consisting of Beheeyem, Crustle, Octillery, Serperior, Gliscor, and Lucario) and gave it to me as a Secret Santa gift. It's awesome! Although, if I had any ability to draw human forms, I would so do something like this.

as little as you liked it i did notice dragonite from the get go the subtle things are what made me guess the hair move was smart id love to see how youd humanize other pokemon mabey a future project i might comish a human typhlosion :3

I wish I didn't lose my White 2 file. It sucks, having beaten the Champ and done countless other things, all undone by my stupid memory ; ;

I was able to guess all of them except Magnezone. The white eye-looking thing on the shoulder made me think of a shiny Porygon.
Out of all the people on your team, I think I like Chandelure and Magnezone the best. They get tied for first.

This is really, really cool! You needn't worry about Dragonite's design - I, for one, was able to recognize her instantly.
Also, it could be because I finished a marathon of the second season of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" a few weeks ago, but Chandelure reminds me a little of a goth-y version of Giles. xD
(And I'm watching through the series for the first time, so please, don't anyone spoil anything. I'm sure no one will, but posting the disclaimer made me feel better.)

By the way Trapdevoir refers to a male Gardevoir. Since Gardevoir is basically androgynous, it can be either gender and no one could ever tell unless you actually CHECKED.

before Diamond and Pearl version were released, Ralts only had one third Evolution, Gardevoir, and everyone knows that Gardevoir looks like a woman naturally. the Term Trapdevoir was used for a male gardevoir. But Pokemon corrected that mistake by providing a second evolution from Kirlia by using a shiny stone, Gallade. so you could say the gardevoir/Gallade evolutionary line could represent a transgendered pokemon to a degree. (Male Ralts to a Gardevoir could be seen as an MtF, and a Female Ralts that evolves into Gallade could be seen as an FtM) now do you see what I'm saying?

I don't know. I think the whole thing's kinda ridiculous. I never saw a problem with a male Gardevoir, so why people jump on this so much is beyond me. Especially, when - since day one - I've never heard any reaction to the notion of female Machokes looking identical to their male counterparts. It's unnecessarily singling things out for no real reason (because it's "funny" or something).
And as was said, yes, only Gallades can be male, whereas Gardevoir can be both. If Nintendo doesn't see a problem, I don't see everyone else needs to.

While a Kirlia of either sex can evolve into Gardevoir, only a male Kirlia can evolve into Gallade [link] . So, in the Ralts family, while the boys get to wear dresses, the girls don't get to play with swords (or sword-like arms, at least).

More evidence of why I hate the term "trap". I raised a male Gardevoir in Emerald, it was my favorite pokemon and now I get to feel strange for doing so. Of course, my family accusing me of pedophilia just for buying the damn game didn't help matters...
