Chiaki gets a bit introspective, and reflects on her situation. As has been mentioned a few times now, it's all a lot to take in for Chiaki. And it's weird, and it's scary, and she misses her family and her crush and... she's also having a lot of fun and making friends. But is it okay for her to just enjoy herself right now, especially when the future is so uncertain? Is it okay for her to settle in when she has no way of knowing when (or if) she'll ever go home again?

Honestly, I think yes. Especially, when things are scariest and most uncertain, I believe there's value in letting yourself get swept up in focusing on the positives. But I also think that if I were in Chiaki's position, I too would have this nagging guilt in the back of my mind about it. It is a lot for our little overthinking heroine to dwell on.

But there's not much else to do about it. Maybe this all ends and she's back home by tomorrow. Maybe she's here for the rest of her life. And maybe there's a lot of other days in between. The future is uncertain, so she might as well make the most of this situation while she can, right?

I think this is all a very interesting discussion point, so please feel free to share your thoughts. Whether it's on Chiaki's actions and feelings, or on what you'd be thinking in her position, I'd love to hear it. ^_^
