Anyway, there's next to no dialogue here. In fact, this is the "quietest" page dialogue-wise. Fortunately, it is also the busiest artistically.
Depicted here is the busy morning routine required of Rain in order to pass in her presentation. Originally, I wasn't going to do this, but I thought it might be kind of insightful, especially to those readers who are in fact not transgendered. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the montage; it was the first time I'd ever had to draw a lot of these actions. And thanks to this comic, I wonder if it won't be the last.
You know... I'm starting to think maybe it wasn't a phase after all...

Is it just me, or is Rain's home look more like a house then an apartment complex? Or am I just delusional and Rain always lived in a house

It is a house; but their apartment is within the house. Based on my experiences, I've lived in quite a few apartments that were simply houses. One family upstairs and the other downstairs, or something like that (in this case, Rain and Fara upstairs, and Kylie and Heather downstairs). It's seems this is not a very common setup since a lot of readers have been confused by this. However, it IS a thing, as I've lived in like four apartments like this. ^_^

Ah okay, funny enough I was JUST on the page where Fara mentions it being an apartment when I noticed that someone responded. Now I understand, I had a friend who used to live like that.

Hey, I'm finally getting around to saving these comics to my computer so I can slay them nd whatnot (that is, make strip slays, not the world's weirdest videogame XP ), and I noticed how Rain is wearing that towel. It makes perfect sense, I suppose, but still, it's adorable.

.... now that I'm going through it all again, I'm suddenly noticing Rain's lack of definable hippage. Her boobs and face may fool people, but I love me some femme hips, so that's just about the first thing I notice on a person (unfortunately). Rain has a man's waist and hips still. not a criticism (though Rain herself might freak out over it) just an observation. lol

Have you ever heard of the Akinator? That online genie thing that asks you questions, and tries to arrive at the character you're thinking of?
I did that for the character "Rain Flaharty". It didn't find her, but I added her to the cue of things that the developers look up.
I wasn't sure how to answer the question, "Have you ever seen your character naked?" Why? Because of panel four right here.

Thanks! "Bedhead Rain" was fun to draw. I probably won't have nearly enough chances to work with that look. ^_^
As for the bra, yeah, I know.
I originally meant to draw it just as you describe, but I couldn't make that look right for the life of me. After the eleven-thousandth attempt (give or take), I finally just tried to have her go about it the other way. And then I'm happy with the result on the first try. Go figure.
So, it might not be the ideal method for putting on a bra (I can do it like that, but why would when there's a MUCH easier method), but I guess it looks good in that it's clearly identifiable as to what she's doing.

That's too funny! I've worn a bra for 20yrs and I've never actually thought about how I put it on and take it off, but you're exactly right! In situations where I need to put it on by clapsing it in the back I have never been able to do it quickly or correctly by myself. But I have zero problem taking it off that way (especially when I had roommate in college and needed to houdini the bra off while keeping a shirt on!)

Heh. Maybe one of the straps was all tangled, and there's just no way she was going to deal with that all day. Hence, she takes it off to adjust it and put it back on. Perfect. ^_^

I hope you can do this to Rain being the lad of a webcomic is not an easy thing. Especially for someone in your position.
I can admit it is busy, but to make a good impression you need time. It isn't just throw on jeans and a big T and rush out the door when you get to high school. But it does say a lot about routine for Rain as well. About her feeding Puddle, how she keeps her padding in a secure case, the care taken to her hair and how she keeps what I guess is Vol. 1 of Kaminari close to her bed like a bible. In some way, it is a really an illuminating moment to show that she really holding hopes to be a girl in every sense of the word.
I'm not even going to argue about the anatomy and preportions and the physicality of the objects in the panels considering that condensing your images into smaller panels is much more daunting than expected. Trust me, I made that sad attempt myself and so far you are doing better than me. The color may be bland when ccompared to the previously seen art in your gallery, but again, its still a learning experience and I don't know when the first pages were sketched.
All in all, you have made your point in introducing Rain to us and I'm sure we all look forward to seeing where we are taken next into her journey for acceptence.

I love your keen eye sometimes. I worried some people might look at this page and just think, "So, it's just a montage of the tedium you have to do to prepare for school?" But you can actually learn a lot about her character from this page, even through these seemingly monotonous tasks.
The art in this comic is overall a little downgraded from my usual works (I sincerely hope that's not a deal breaker or anything). I don't shade because it's too time-consuming, when I need to put these out in relatively quick succession, and many pages are frankly devoid of any real background (because I suck at backgrounds). But it's all for keeping up with time constraints and keeping everything looking as consistent as possible. As with most any comic, the art is very likely to improve as it goes as I'll simply get more comfortable with what I can and can't do.

Besides, if you look at the first page of ANY webcomic, you can always see how the artist's style changed over time, often to be a lot better or worse.

Thanks very much, as I said before, I never hold back an honest review when I believe its for the best.
And don't worry, comics are hard on me too, but I'm sure they will be better in time just like yours. My dad always tells me that we have no where to go but up, our ability to create becoming greater with each idea. He really is an inspiration outside of art.

What I can tell you for now is that she is currently living with her aunt only. Where the rest of her family is, is something I'll be revealing some time later.
