Thanks, Gabriel. I use all of my own art...fractals...as textures. 
I think it was about 500 samples.
I usually do not use many more. It takes too long to render.
Some need more but not all.

You will never be sorry. The interface is the only difficult thing. 
After that you will have sooooo much fun creating so many
different things.
