Description Kodiak goes back a way with me, he was one of my earliest solo creations, though this costume is based on an idea Jeff gave me, once. In-universe, Kodiak is as strong as Mega, and only a little less durable.

So if Kodiak is the Sabretooth to Bobcat’s Wolverine, does that make him a good guy?

nice design.i notice with bobcat has a wolverine-inspired look and now kodiak does remind me of sabretooth.

i do dig the x-men inspiration with those two.

Kodiak is one of my first creations. Originally, he was based on a character from John Byrne's Doomsday +1 and Grizzly Adams, which I watched when I was a kid. Supposed to be a big mountain man kinda guy, with super-strength. He was even a good guy in that first version, but became a bad guy when I started creating new characters.
Also, Kodiak was big and tall when Sabertooth wasn't. In his first appearances in Iron Fist, Sabertooth wasn't any taller than average.

I "discovered" Byrne at Charlton, when he was doing Space: 1999 and Doomsday +1. Then with Starlord, I discovered he'd gone to Marvel.

I still like the gruff and brawny look on kodiak as well.

and i never read charlton comics growing up.but i grew up on dark horse, aside from marvel and dc and later on the years i was so into crossgen until they ended in '04.

Charlton was long gone, by then. DC bought up most of their characters, Blue Beetle, Captain Atom, The Question, Nightshade, etc. Then Alan Moore reinvented the Charlton characters for Watchmen. Originally it was going to be the Charlton versions.

oh wow.that doesn't happen very often for characters to move to different or new labels.i also there aren't many labels collabo like they used to.

Hell, when I was a kid, there was only one DC/Marvel crossover, the Superman vs Spider-Man thing. It was a looong time before they did another one, another Supes/Spidey cross, then Batman and Hulk, which...WTF? And then others followed slowly, years laster. The X-Men/Teen Titans crossover was pretty good.
