*Happy dance*
The master of visual storytelling is back to tell what may well be the most compelling unfinished story of western animation for the past decade. Aww yiss

Don't really care if it's a reboot or not, but I just hope Jack's odissey against the Shapeshifting Master of Darkness will finally get a proper ending.
...damn. What is this awesome period I live in? Star Wars is coming back on the big screen and one of my favourite cartoons is being risen from the proverbial grave by its original creator!!!
Godspeed, Genndy, we have faith in you!

Couldn't believe it myself. It will be so refreshing to see a true veteran of Toonami back in action. Maybe kids today can learn a thing or two.

Two good things about this manΒ
Β
1.) One the original creator is back on this.
2.) It's on Adult Swim not CN, so they don't need to hold back anymore with Jack just killing robots and oil "blood".ο»Ώ

considering CN has, in recent years, referenced alcholholism, gay rights, a ton of dark themes including stabbing, and other adult themes in their kids shows. I'm sure Samurai Jack coulda still been in the normal CN lineup
cause if they just reboot jack on toonami, well I'd still stay up for it but i think it would do better not beyond midnight then.
still though would be nice to see it either way old or new.

CN been much of a puss with that sort of area the closest thing I see two it is steven universe

well really they've been hiding it for years rather well
Flapjack used maple syrup to represent alcoholism
Chowder used a lot of sexist and gay jokes all across its humor (most of its sexist humor revolving around Endive and Truffles)
My gym partner's a monkey used a lot of gay humor, in a weird way
Steven Universe definitely delves in the darkness, and has even stabbed 2 of its main characters, regardless if they can regenerate.
Regular show was originally more adult with suggestions of cussing. but even when dumbed down they still hide adult themes all around like hidden alchoholism, crotch jokes and other suggestive humor
Adventure time also does delve into dark themes, but its more philosphical at times.
a lot of shows have managed to hide adult content or some rather dark things and have done well with it.
Technically though cartoons have been doing that since the beginning, especially in the golden age, its nothing new.
compared to Disney and Nick, CN's been rather ballsy in using more adult and dark themes in their cartoons. Especially nowadays
