Simple comp test.
Added comment, 10/29/2013 - Well maybe not so simple, actually took awhile to create. It was done in Maya software with Michael Comet' muscle system (AKA mayaMuscle.) I modeled the Skeleton, then the outer skin. I tried several muscle plugins - and mostly failed - I had to simplify the original version because I made to many muscles and my computer couldn't handle it. So I ended up using cMuscle with just these general massive shapes that work under the skin to jiggle and slide under the skin. I did the rigging, cause that's just another thing I do. I created a bunch of walk/run cycles to learn and test out how to improve the rig/skin.
Well there ya go - A T.rex! I'm glad I did it.
Added comment 10/30/13 I thought I could read/reply to all the comments people made, very very nice! Thanks, I will keep trying...Now it's gone up to 31 pages though.
Please don't be mad if I missed you
It was made with Maya software you can have a free version of the rig here >>> joel3d.com/TrexSkeletonRig.htm⦠<<< skeleton only
11/01/13 THANK YOU for all the comments! I can't keep up, I hope you understand.

I am presently creating molds from a new T-rex find.
Starting with 53 pieces of the skull I will be molding and casting over the next two months to create a duplicate reconstructed skull for the client in order to put it center stage in the scientific spotlight! I have Maya but need some tips and direction. Very impressed with your work so far. There are a few alterations to your animation that I would like to suggest but not on a public forum. Contact me on robybraun@me.com.
Regards,
Roby

Have you used maya's native muscle system before? Do you prefer Comet's system? I've never actually used muscles, mostly stuck with sculpt deformers and blendshapes.

They are the same - M. Comet sold the plug-in cMuscle to Autodesk, who renamed it MayaMuscle. I think that it is very complicated to use, and I only use them occasionally.

I won't be using Maya, so I guess I'll have to re-invent the muscle system, something I've known is needed for a long time.Β

I'm really amazed. This is exactly the same as watching any "behind the scenes" scene in any Jurassic Park blu-ray edition. No kidding.
