You know how in FiM where in one episode, Ponyville was depicted as the ideal place to live in by Pinkie Pie in "A Friend in Deed", but then one episode later, in "Putting your Hoof Down", Ponyville was depicted as a town full of jerks. I like to think that the comic made the same mistake here with the bank manager for the sake of plot...or maybe he's just the bad apple in the bunch. I don't know.

It's kind of like how citizens in superhero worlds are extremely ungrateful because of collateral. They expect heroes to do perfect jobs in stopping bad guys.

Also, you cannot blame the bad guys, or they'll hurt you. But you can yell at the heroes and blame them, because that's the way a coward does it.

I always seem to find someone who makes my point better than I do.
Maybe it's less "people expect customer service to be perfect," and more "people know that if they decide to take out their frustrations on customer service, they can't do anything to defend themselves," that brings out unreasonable behaviors. There's also that subset of people who show up on the "notalwaysright" website because they express the view that customer service "aren't real people".
