Middle East, 1300 BC

In a continent where kingdoms rise and fall like crops, Assyria was determined to stay. A modernization of the military was implemented, and the first professional army was born. Rather than mercenaries whose loyalty could be bought, Assyria had trained warriors that served a common goal, the grandeur of the empire. Through superior armory, siege weaponry and battle tactics, Assyria conquered the land like a locust on a field of crops. However, technology was not their deadliest weapon. Through fear and promise of total annihilation, Assyria made petty kingdoms kneel and join their cause, however, will brute force and the promise of a united empire be enough to sustain Assyria?
