No, it took about 40 minutes to render this. It was larger, but I scaled it. (2500x1875, Oversample=2, quality=2000)

I like this composition, the shapes are all disjointed but regular! Cool idea! NOt a big fan of the colours though, but they still work together nicely!

Thanks! What colours do you think would be more suitable?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chuck3y In reply to JoelFaber [2006-11-26 03:47:19 +0000 UTC]

Ah these are suitable, just id prefer a softer/darker green over the blue, more earthy feel. This reminds me little too much of those cheap incense stores!

Hey, great use of "rectangles" (if I'm not mistaken?). I like the standout colors.

I used a variation that my brother =MichaelFaber made. He also used it in his My Own [link] series. Go bug him about it

Wick5ter [2006-11-24 20:04:50 +0000 UTC]

wow, crazy design, have you been using a certain Disc Spiral Tutorial

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoelFaber In reply to Wick5ter [2006-11-24 20:18:04 +0000 UTC]

No. I learned a lot from that tutorial, but I haven't posted anything that follows all the directions per se. Brushed Metal [link] (and the others in that series) and Enticement [link] are very simlar to those Disc Spirals in the tutorial, but each have an extra little spin

This fractal isn't anything like that. There is no Disc, no spherical final transform and no linear+spherical transform. I used a variation that my brother Michael made. He also used it in his My Own [link] series. It is the best user made variation I've seen! Hopefully it makes its way into Apo!
