Description
This is the 16th part of my project "The Robots' Guide to Winter Depression" - an illustrated guide on how to get through the dark winter months and handle seasonal affective disorder. If you happen to speak Swedish, you'll find the original guide on my instagram: www.instagram.com/joensoderhol…Winter tip number 16 - Make a checklist with things that can easily improve your mood
Some days can be just awful. If you are like me, you might have days when nothing feels worth doing and you have no idea how to improve your mood. One thing you can do in preparation for days like that is a checklist with quick and easy things to improve your mood - things that you forget to do when you are feeling particularly low.
You don't have to flee from being sad or feeling low. But you can take care of yourself while you're going through it. No need to feel even worse because you were too sad to remember to eat and drink.
I've hand-painted my own checklist, with drawings of trees and other nice things on it, and put it up on my fridge. So I can easily look at it if I'm feeling down. Now the list can be very individual, of course. I've phrased mine in the form of questions to myself. Here are some examples of questions you can put on your own list:
-Have you eaten anything today?
-Are you hydrated?
-Have you taken a shower and put on clothes?
-Have you been outside today?
-Have you talked to anyone?
-Have you listened to some music that you like?
-Are you feeling overwhelmed and need to pause for a moment to plan the day?
Those are a few examples. Do you have any more additions to this kind of list you think are good?
