Description Tonight's experiment is about updating old dynamic clothing to dForce in DAZ Studio.  I converted the robes in the "Dynamic Fantasy and Monster Robes Bundle" to dForce and used the Transfer Utility to make them conform to Genesis 3 figures. No post work

Thank you, I woke up with the idea that I might be able to repurpose the old dynamic clothing in my library to dForce.  It kind of works, but still doesn't work like clothing specifically built for dForce

The opacity of the robe and the emissive had me wondering if a shell was colliding with the robe. It was driving me nuts, then I had a forehead smacking moment when I realized they were showing through. . .

Seriously cool scene!

I have only just begun to find some dForce successes, the next post I post in fact. I just don't grok it though. . .

Top work with dForce again. The conversion seems to have worked absolutely well. The picture has a touch of Star Wars about it (ok it may be the robes, lol), very nice!

That's really a surpricing info for me.

Can you please tell use how it is possible to convert the optitex dynamic clothing to dForce????

and how did you conform them to G3 with the transfer-utility? They are partially M4 or G2.

Is there a tutorial?

This would be very interesting for all of us.

Thanks

Thank you for your kindness and encouragement

I got the "Dynamic Fantasy and Monster Robes" to fit G3 figures, by saving the robes to OBJ files and then using the transfer utility to match it to the G3 rigs. Then applying a Dforce modifier made the fit much better

Ah! I understand. You made a new rigging.

It's the first time that i hear about a Dforce modifier.

I hardly use dForce because i don't like it.

I always click on animate and let it work and render.

Is this tool included in DAZ / dForce?

JoePingleton In reply to Catweazle01 [2018-12-05 10:53:20 +0000 UTC]

I was very frustrated with dForce until I started playing with clothing specifically built for dForce.
The dForce modifier converts anything into dForce.  The problem is that they usually explode if the object is to complex. That is why I wanted to try it on some old dynamic items.

The transfer utility has been built into DAZ Studio for a long time and basically just copies a figure's rigging to another figure or object.
Here is a quick tutorial on how the transfer utility works [ www.youtube.com/watch?v=og6YYW… ]

you understood me wrong.

I mean the dForce modifier.

I often have heared that lot's of things "explode".

Maybe there will be a converter dForce2dynamicClothing and dynCltohting2dForce be available sometimes
