Ha, now for the kitties. I think the siamese turned out quite well!

Thank you, the Siamese was my favorite too. I am not sure why he looks so much better than the other because they all use the sane settings

Thank you, I am learning so much about this new Strand Based Hair with each experiment. I already have many new ideas on how to improve on this result.

Laurie over at the hive could use some of your insight! She's got the horse up and going with it! It's looking pretty good! Check out CWRW's product thread.

Thank you again for all your kindness and encouragement
Her work looks amazing. I am not sure I could help her much because her level of quality and craftsmanship is so far above mine. I can't wait to see what people who actually know what they are doing will create with Strand Based Hair
PS I just updated this version with my latest version of the hair

Looks really good! She's been reading your postings over in the Daz Forums!! Would like to see what it will look like on the Gypsy Vanner and the Shetland.

Thank you for pointing me back to Hivewire's forum. I just posted some of the info I have learned so far in my Strand Based Hair experiments at community.hivewire3d.com/threa… Hopefully, they will help people avoid the mistakes I have made and any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for being so helpful! I know Laurie has a few texture projects on her plate right now and any help she can get to learn this new feature is most appreciated ! L'adair knows quite a bit about it also and has also opened a thread devoted to it, but Laurie is cool with any helpful info in her thread so don't worry about posting there! Thanks for the info ! I haven't upgraded yet to 4.11 but will probably soon after I finish up with this set! Nearly there a few more promo images and thumbs and Site Ads and the readme ! Getting there! Slowly but grinding it out!

Thank you, I had to try strand based hair on the cat model. It's far from correct but it's a start

LOL I love puns, I am just trying to figure out this new hair system. Once I get some acceptable results I hope to use them in everything. I am sure they will be playing poker soon

I've been interested in the dynamic hair, but Î haven't seen any indication how to actually go about it. Do you have any idea?

Unfortunately only PAs can create dForce strand based hair.

hm... that's very annoying. When I look at the images it looks as if that hair is actually strand based hair, exported as an obj.... wonder if that would work.

We can use dForce strand based hair, just not create it ourselves, only PAs can create it.

unfortunately the strandbased hair has no feature to export it as an obj. dynamic would be particularly interesting when dealing with long hair intersecting objects... as with saddles, and cuddling arms... . one can manage with the strandbased hair, but it's a lot of work.

I think I am giving up learning Strand Based Hair and Daz Studio all together. Since Daz decision to only allow PAs to create dForce Strand Based Hair, I decided to not waste anymore time with them. I am hoping Blender will be better fit

I hope you're not serious, cause your images are really coming along well. BTW do you have any idea why I only get white hair after switching from the beta version to the public version in DAZ?

JoePingleton In reply to FreyrStrongart [2019-06-28 13:36:40 +0000 UTC]
Thank you for all your kindness and inspiration, After playing with hair so more in the latest Blender I don't see going back to DAZ's limited Stand Based Hair options.
As for why you might be getting white hair after switching from the beta version to the public version in DAZ. I know one of the changes they made in the later beta gave me this problem because the made the SBH shaders have both Iray and 3DL settings. I just had to update the Iray settings for my earlier experiments and then everything worked fine again.
