Thank you,
I figured if one mirror worked, why not a bunch of them

Thank you, I was concerned that it was too distracting

Beautiful use of creativity. The effect is quite effective (yes I need to expand my vocabulary).

Thank you, I went a little crazy with the reflections

Wow, love this. The way her face is fractured, looks very cool and gives a very nice effect, with a touch of surreal.Β

Thank you,
It started as just a test of the free mirror, then I went full surrealist

Chanteur-de-Vent In reply to JoePingleton [2017-02-08 18:59:47 +0000 UTC]
Well, it's damn impressive. So I think even if it was a test, this is a proper finished piece for sure.

Nice idea, but the result is disturbing to look at. Needs attention.

Thank you,
That's way i feel too. Β It seemed like a good idea, but I am not sure I like to look at it

This makes an interesting statement on how people see themselves.Β Or, its just a really cool mirror render lol.

Thank you,
It started out as a test mirror render, then it turned into a representation on how some see themselves

very very cool, great job on the zero post work, that's a A+ by itself lol

JoePingleton In reply to Synthetik3 [2017-02-07 04:08:33 +0000 UTC]
Thank you,
The trick was to use three copies of the same figure off screen to reflect in all the mirrors

This is such a cool idea, Joe! It always astounds me how much beauty you can create with no postwork at all. You are so talented!

Thank you for the kind wordsΒ Β
The hard part was determining the focal point to get the DOF to blur out the edges. Probably could have done it easier in Photoshop

Thank you,
It's experiment's like this that make me think "I could never have done this without 3d. Β Can you imagine what it would take to draw this by hand"

You are most welcome... and you are absolutely correct on drawing something like this!

Thank you,
That's the fun of not having any idea when starting the experiment, the results are not something I would have planned

Nihil-Novi-Sub-Sole [2017-02-06 05:41:02 +0000 UTC]
A brilliant idea! She really looks lost in her reflections!
Have you used the blooming effect of IRay?
π: 0 β©: 1
JoePingleton In reply to Nihil-Novi-Sub-Sole [2017-02-06 06:03:23 +0000 UTC]
Thank you, I thought about using the blooming effect, but when I played with the DOF on the camera it kind of gave the same effect
π: 0 β©: 1
Nihil-Novi-Sub-Sole In reply to JoePingleton [2017-02-06 10:22:55 +0000 UTC]
Thank you! Now, I understand why there is a blooming effect on the side and not in the middle of the picture, it's coming from the camera! Interesting!

JoePingleton In reply to AOGRAI [2017-02-06 06:01:51 +0000 UTC]
Thank you, it evolved from playing with the mirrors. I "cheated" and had to use duplicate figures to make sure that her reflections blocked out most of the background
π: 0 β©: 1
AOGRAI In reply to JoePingleton [2017-02-06 07:27:35 +0000 UTC]
LOL... there is no such thing as cheating... innovating is what you should say!

Thank you, I tried the one set of mirrors, then thought "what would it look like with them covering the whole screen?" Β
