Description
This is another experiment with Carrara 8.5 Pro using Carrara Vista In The Clouds.Β This time using Stonemason's Urban Sprawl 2 and some octopus models.Β I created the rubble by using the explode modifier on a few buildings.Thanks for looking.

I've never seen the Watchmen, is there an octopus attack in it? It's always fun to add tentacles attacking.Β
I wish I could draw something this detailed too. I play with 3D because I don't have theΒ patience (or skill) to draw and paint this stuff freehand

In the end of the comic, watchmen, a tentacle monster comes in from a different dimension and attacks the city. Not how it ended in the movie. But it's still a cool concept for a story.

I've always been intrigued by Cthulhu stories and they always seems to have interdimensional tentacled monstersΒ in them.Β In this experiment I wanted to see if I could create a destoryed city and I liked the lighting. Then I couldn't decide on what was destroying the city, some abstracted tentacles seemed like fun ;

Yeah, I'm inspired by the lovecraft mythos as well. Stories about super beings interacting with humans is awesome! I want to write and draw awesome stories like that too. So it could go down in history. Who knows? Maybe they will be made into a story when hollywood really runs out of ideas.

That sounds like a great idea. Hollywood's run out of good ideas long ago.Β It always seems that the great ideas come from the commitment to following something your passionate about.
I started getting back into 3D wanting to make a movie, then it turned into a creative outlet to help me do something different than all the corporate stuff I do in my day job.Β I have been trying to do a creative experiment everyday without any preconceived idea when I start them.Β It has been so freeing and led me to so many ideas I could never have planed. I really have to revist some of these ideas and see if I can get back to my original intent and string them into a cohesive story.

Very epic indeed. It reminds me of my sons favorite monster Godzilla. Mainly because I can totally see a Godzilla movie where he fights off the giant tentacle monster destroying the city.Β Β Β

Thanks,
I started out to try some of the atomospherics in "Carrara Vista In The Clouds" with Stonemason's "Urban Sprawl 2".Β This led to thinking of creating a Godzilla like scene, but I didn't have a good model to use.Β So I looked in my old runtime folder and used the Content Paradise sample octopus figure.Β Sometimes a problem forces you to a place you never intended creatively.

I Β think that's the best way some times. The challenge creates a better inspiration, if that makes any sense. I find challenging my self makes for better more detailed works of art. Β Β
