I felt bad for her, in a way, from the beginning, just like I do for anyone who acts like that. I like to try to understand people, and when someone acts aggressively like that, it usually means they're in pain or have experienced painful events in life that are haunting them. Maybe Gilda was too influenced by the negatives of her younger life (bullies has appeared in several episodes starting the pegasai, which we can assume she was around for) and wasn't able to get past them like Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were. Wherever she went, I think/hope she learned her lesson after the episode she appeared in and began to make some changes for the better.
Sorry... thoughts like these flow out of me like water from a fountain. A friend of mine told me that if I had a cutie mark it would be a ponified Thinker statue (shameless plug: I made one and it's in my gallery, so click my name
