THIS Spike came out in 2010, and has nothing to do with the original other then their name and species. Your argument is invalid.

I'm only saying that this spike was modeled after the 80s spike.
Plus, besides the purple body, spyro and spike really don't look or act much alike. Spike walks on two legs, but spyro's on all fours. Spike's wingless AND hornless, but spyro isn't. And besides, spyro's top spikes are yellow, not green.
Just disliking a character, because they look similar to another (even though I don't see it here with these two) is silly. I thin both dragons are awesome, and cool in there own way.
But if you still don't like spike, that's alright. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, so sorry if I cause any hard feelings.

Well that's alright. While I do like the character, sometimes it is hard to root for him. Though every character needs a flaw. But it's all opinion based, so it's okay if you aren't a fan. We all can't be.

You ARE talking about a series that tries to cut away the gender stereotypes. I severely doubt they tried to make Spike "icky" in any way.
