Here's my theory on the animatronics and their Free Roaming Mode. They're like in a sleepwalk. You know? Like, doing things without knowing. That's why, along with 'being "disabled" where they can probably move', they don't attack in the day.

Well, from what I've learned, they're put in free roam during the night to keep their servos from locking up. In animatronics, locked up servos is the mechanical equivalent of full blown paralysis.

Well, what it is, if they see you as an endoskeleton without a suit, so they must have some sort of built in repair function to rectify this issue.
