I gotta ask you what is your method for coloring? It is a style I rarely see.

I use the pen tool in Illustrator and draw out the shapes, then I mess around with the transparencies until I get it to the way I like it... Then after it's basically done, I bring the piece into Photoshop and sprinkle some textures over it to bump the colors out a little.
