aaaaah this is tight, I listened to a bunch of the audio book versions of his work recently. Contact was amazingly prescient when it comes to technology and the rise of christian fundamentalism in our time. I was watching an old tv show that had a panel discussion of Sagan, Stephen Hawking and another scientist, and it was real apparent how Carl Sagan, despite being grounded in science, was really willing to dream and think beyond what is possible now, with the idea that anything could be possible in the future.
