Description
After bitching about the whole creative block thing, I decided to illustrate how it actually works in the first place for me, so maybe this will get things going. I mean I assume that usually the process starts the same for everyone... With thoughts and ideas. And usually I think of things I've done in the past, you know?The way I set up the thought cloud, I can swap shit in and out of it, so maybe I could do something more on-going with this joint... Who knows.

man, this is so inspiring masterpiece! i love the character (you?), his pose makes me belive he's developing THE idea to draw. brilliant artwork and i truly dig it!
ps. i'd made the pink cloud a little bigger and put there more things that inspire me. graffiti pieces maybe

I think it's awesome that your wife and kids are a nice chunk of the emotion going through your mind in the piece. Nothing gets your creative juices going like your family. My wife went into labor with and almost lost our first child at only five months pregnant about a month ago. Spending the night on a hospital floor hoping my wife can hold on until close to full term has burned through quite a bit of paper and graphite. I see why they're up there man. Sweet piece.

I definitely agree. My first son spent the weekend he was born in the Neo-natal Intensive care unit at Children's here in Boston because of a lung immaturity. Then my younger son had to get major kidney surgery done at about 6 months... To see my kids perfectly fine now is one of the major driving points of everything I do.

sure brings to life on how people brainstorm. the beginning of the cloud looks amazing. i wouldve imagine more colors all over the area but this is just the beginning process so yah more sketches than colors

i really like this piece. its awesome. but theres something about the bubble that i dont like...not sure what though, maybe its the colour or just the drawings within it. hmmm but otherwise f'n amazing.

There may be an edit along the way if I get the chance... I might do an overall drawing so it's specific to this piece. I sorta just rushed it and pieced together a bunch of older pieces for it, you know?

wow! well that sums it up! you really captured what goes on in alot of artists heads. i feel like i was sitting in that chair about a month ago, trying to get thoughts rolling and get out of my block. i'm kinda still in the chair right now!!!!!
