I think the main thing I've been learning lately is even though you're vectoring and working pretty firmly from a reference, you should still use your imagination and find a way to incorporate your drawing skills into it, you know? The vector stuff you see that is done verbatim and to look exactly like the photo reference is just straight boring to me. Don't be afraid to try different colors and stuff like that. Always try to have some sort of concept to your composition too, if you can. It helps make it more interesting, you know?
