This is something I've wanted to do for a while, which was to render an elderly person, because I never have before. Surprisingly, I found it a lot easier than I had thought it would be, mainly because you don't have to be as subtle with the tones, especially when the skin is more weathered like the subject I chose. I rocked the usual technique; flat shapes and some subtle gradients in the background elements. I used three colors (the same from the Madlib joint) and used the value sliders to adjust them.The Chinese characters in the corner say "Truth" in Romanized Mandarin (I hope). This man looks like he has lived a long and experience-driven life. Thus the title.

it's been said already, but the thing I like initially is your decisions in choosing colors. It really works well here, and it's a talent you've shown to possess in your other works too.

i love looking at an old man with a face with a thousand stories to tell. and yes, that does mean "truth" in chinese, mandarin is a dialect of chinese language. love this piece to the bone.

Yeah I know Mandarin is a dialect, I just wanted to make sure I got the right characters... Can't really trust the internet these days. Stupid internet.
I grew up with a kid from Hong Kong and he spoke Cantonese. Needless to say, I know neither that well at all.

yea, i know, i once met a guy who said he had a tatoo in chinese that meant "Dawg" as in "Patna" , something he found online, and when he showed me, it actually said "little dog" or "puppy".

Haaa.... That's actually why I haven't got the tattoos I wanted to get yet... One is Truth (that's where I got the idea for the characters) and the other is Justice. I want to make sure they say what they're supposed to before I get them though.
