When I saw these, I remembered my first 3D doughnut. It made me realize that I needed some SSS to make them look realistic. Did you try that?

Nope..... Not quite sure what SSS is

SubSurface Scattering. It's been in BI for awhile, but it was recently added to cycles. Andrew Price has a tutorial on making bread that shows how to use it.

I see. Don't worry about it. I understand 3D art seems extensive labor and Β I don't think it looks fake. Personally, it still looks perfect for me except the pink frosting. I think It looks unnatural when the pink frosting was overly saturated/artificial. Maybe reduce the saturation of magenta about 30% or depending on your judgement. Β Maybe apply some subtle texture onto frosting something like this as shown below: Otherwise, everything looks perfect.

Yeah, good point, but when I made this, I had Wal-mart's generic doughnuts in mind...... And they look like the icing is like a rock, etc. LOL! But perhaps I should revisit the scene and do something like this

Dude, this is awesome!!!!
I am now super hungry!
You captured everything, just right, the lighting, the material, and even the sprinkles!
Did you post this on Blenderarts.org ?
They would love it, at least that's my opinion
Did you use the cycle render or the blender render, and how long did it take?
You even got the dough appearance down packed, this so mouth watering!!
Brilliant work! Keep it up!
