And yes cycle is great for everything etc... but few people actually know how to use it correctly (for exemple how to produce a decent render with only 20 samples)

Just because everyone doesn't know how to render FAST, doesn't mean they don't know how to use Cycles. Optimisation is completely different than knowing how to use nodes.

I like it. Especially the wood on the wall and the stairs. Although I have to say, that they work against each other a bit. The stairs look more like an industrial design, while the wood goes a more "oldschool" way, like a wood cabin or something. I agree with you on the couch, it doesn't fit in at the moment. Will you add in a balocony or something? The wall structure you made is great, so much room for paintings/books/other stuff. Good luck with the progress
PS: If you use your cpu for rendering, the tile size should be 16x16, speeds up the render
EDIT: st.houzz.com/simgs/8f913e48021… was this your inspiration? Til now you are close, gj.

LOLOLOLOL! Spot on! My exact reference image! Haha! Um, I actually have an addon, that gives the best tile size based on the dimensions of my scene, and my CPU...
Um, yeah, I have a lot of room for stuff, maybe too much room And, I think the couch will be traded in for the couch in my last scene... At least for now
Thanks...
Oh, and for the wood and stairs... I think it looks bad for now because the render isn't through... IDK though
