White surface reflects bright blue giant light?

yeah but what from what? that's the core in the question.

No, that's clear as bell. Surface refracts the light.

i know the planets are illuminated but by what are they illuminated? what is so shiny that it casts a ray of blue light upon them?

I already said that in the first answer - the "blue giant".

i've never seen one in real life so i would not know what color they shine, i am ashamed of myself.

JoeyJazz In reply to Nils-Iver [2012-04-06 16:23:09 +0000 UTC]
... That's okey - they all shine almost the same, it's just the filters we use to watch them - e.g. our sun shines white ('cause it is white), yet due to our atmosphere we percieve it yellow.

Wow it's really good, the render on the planet fits so well with the nebula!
Good job, Joe!

I love it. This picture is so beautiful, there is mystery and beauty wrapped all over it. The deep blue and dark colors mixed together, they create such an interesting atmosphere. It makes you want to visit the planet and find out about it. Very daring, love it sir. Keep it up.
