WEB CAM IS NOT NEEDED TO VIEW EFFECTSThis is an entry for Flashers Challange 3: free form.
Topic: Electricity.
So i made this web cam interactive electricity thing
has 4 effects releated to colour detection of the web cam. I also added mouse interaction for those without web cams, but it is much more interesting and fun with a web cam.Instructions
Simply choose an effect and colour to detect (red, green - works best, or blue). If you have trouble getting it to work try messing with the sensitivity; the more sensitive it is the easier it is to pick up colour.
wave the colour on screen and watch the magic!
Effects
Trail: follows one object of colour and makes a trail behind it
Attract: finds multiple objects of colour and zaps them from centre
Beam: draws electricity between 2 objects of colour
Reflect: bounces electricity off one object of colour
Webcam not working for you?
Right click the flash go to settings then click the camera icon. Make sure USB Camera is selected from the drop down menu.
HAVE FUN! i sure did while making this.

very cool! i always wanted to be able to use a toy like this with my preloaders, but right now i'm lucky if the preloader itself works.

theres probably something around.. try google. its all to do with bitmap data so look into that.

Darnit. As much as I'd hate to look like a twat, how I get it to work with mouse? I've got the newest Flash (10,0,22), I clikced on the "mouse" option under "Follow" tab and tried practically every other option there. All in IE, Firefox and Opera.

wierd works fine for me... do you have a webcam/videocamera plugged in? even tho it works for me when my camera is in...theres no reason why it shouldnt work. if you do have some sort of camera try unplugging it and refresh page...maybe...

hmmm...thats strange. so its not showing any video capture in the swf? only thing i can think of is the privacy thingo.. did you let it have access?

Very nice work, i cant use my webcam with it atm because i only have my infrared webcam so not too good for colour tracking, but it looks awesome great work.
