Description
HeyA few months back I got an assignment from school to create something with the theme Typical British. And I thought, this sounds like the ideal chance to create a cover for one of my all time favourite books, the Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien. For the cover I wanted a landscape with a sunset and a orange/red colour palette. And I settled upon Frodo staring into the distance at Amon Hen, close to the end of the first book.
I am really curious about your thoughts regarding this cover. Tips, critiques and opinions are all very welcome

Incredible. Your scene choice was inspired, one rarely chosen for Tolkien art but to me one of the most fascinating scenes in the first book. This could easily be published.

I love this. I can really feel Frodo's isolation as he looks out over the vastness of Middle Earth, thinking of the journey ahead of him. I looked at the blog post, and I agree that you chose the best version of the landscape. Amazing work.

Thank you! I really tried to communicate the feeling of being alone, at the brink of another long journey. Glad to hear that some of it can be found back in the painting. It is good to hear you agree on this version, I hoped I chose the right variant, but I never knew for sure. Again, thank you for the nice words.

I really love this design, and the soft colour scheme you chose! It creates a sort of meditative mood, perfect for the flow of Tolkien's language. The way you rendered the stonework is also quite amazing!

Thank you for the kind words, I tried my best to make it as much Tolkien-ish as possible in my current expertise regarding art , to convey that other-world feeling, great to hear that at last partly I succeed.
