Description
Shoebill storks are, to say the least, unique. They have a fiercely intense gaze. Their formidable expression is charmingly contrasted by their awkward, dreamy movements. Also the inspiration for Loftwings in LOZ Skyward Sword, of course.

It looks mesmerizing! You picked a great creature for this painting. I love this about you, you let the strange and unusual flow into your art like a sorcerer weaving a spell. Lovely!
(edit: also, I really missed looking at your art, hope to see more of it)

This is incredible! Shoebills are so bizarre. They're kind of like dinosaurs. You've really captured their substantially unnerving gaze.

They're so delightfully . . . odd. I do think they have dino descendants, like a lot of birds. Glad you liked this

I love how you rendered all the elements in here, Cathy-- not to mention the composition, which is great, how the colors in the flowers (and the eye!) contrast against the background... and that's an intense gaze indeed

Masterfully realized by a veteran sorceress, sinisterly intriguing and staggeringly beautiful; an ingenious contrast of character and setting, and a pleasure to behold.

AWWw thank you, Sam! Especially happy to hear your thoughts on the contrast and setting. The first tuliphead . . . just kind of creeps me out now. Glad this one is more successful in communicating a weird kind of beauty that I like to express. You made my day.
