I was first going to say it looked like a waste of time but then I realized just doing this doesn't take up much time and it gets ideas in your head for the real work.

Honestly, I think they look marvelous. I thoroughly enjoy simple sketches such as this. You know, Joey, you should work as a storyboard artist. I think you pull it off.

I hear what everyone's saying, but could you imagine a world where we all sketched, drew, and thought the same...it would be boring as hell. Messy lines for one could be clean lines for another

As Mr.Sanchez says keep your lines clean on the finial piece. Your sketch lines don't necessarily need to be clean so long as the artist who is drawing understands them.

right on the contrary, he says to sketch clean, so you can see the scrap clearly and change easyly...
but of course if it's your style, I can't criticize it
