Recently Hot Topic youtube channel released a video interview with Applejack where she revealed that she got her hat "Bobbing for Apples at the Ponyville Fair," (See the full interview here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWcxeB… ) after seeing that video I decided to make a comic to expand on that a bit.Production on this comic was hard due to the fact that my art program kept freezing up while I was drawing it, but I'm pretty satisfied after finishing it. I personally think this is one of my best comics, it's one of my few comics that actually makes me kind of emotional.

I always liked the fandom idea that Applejack's hat and Applebloom's bow once belonged to their parents, their father and mother respectively, and that they wear them out of the love they had for them...unfortunately, that accursed scene in 'Somepony to Watch Over Me' ruined it. A 'Hats and Bows Closest'? That's gotta be the stupidest thing I've ever heard!

Anyways, I think you did a great job here.
I especially like how you only drew the silhouette of Applejack's father
to leave him up to the reader's imagination.

Anyway, thank you forever for this.
You have no idea how much irrational anger you just defused (AJ's my favorite and it sometimes feels like she gets nothing but the short end of the stick all the time). This is an adorable little comic and, although I in no way consider anything in those commercials canon, I am more than ok with accepting this as a perfectly acceptable canon.

My headcanon is that Big Mac's yoke and Applejack's hat both came from their father, and Applebloom's bow came from her mother. It would certainly explain why the three of them are always wearing those items (not only is it a natural conclusion from the canon material that these three are orphans, it's also been confirmed by the show's creators that the meteors at the end of Apple Family Reunion were Applejack's parents, i.e. that they have passed on).
