Yeah, you know the drill. I was bored today. This happened. I colored it at home and translated it because half of it was in french.Am I the only one to find similarities between the Master from NuWho and Nyarlathotep from the Lovecraft novel? Or am I just crazy?

What Lovecraft novel is it, because I can't remember him.

It's a very short story simply named "Nyarlathotep", based on a nightmare Lovecraft had once. There's a lot of differences between the two characters of course (starting with the fact that Nyarlathotep looks a bit egyptian), but I couldn't help thinking of that story at the (kinda ridiculous) beginning of The End of time part one, with the nightmares announcing his arrival and stuff.
Nyarlathotep is supposed to be the messenger of the Outer Gods in Lovecrafts writings and there's a few other stories vaguely related to him; here are the main reasons why I think he's similar to the Master: sometimes he walks the Earth looking like a human being, usually a tall, slim, joyous man. He's supposed to have other faces and other forms. He's deceptive, manipulative, gathers followers and uses propaganda to achieve his goals. He will probably destroy the human race at some point and possibly the earth as well..."to the muffled, maddening beating of drums". YEP.

I've just read it. And I can see why you think of the Master, maybe really he was Nyarlathotep, you know in an earlier regeneration.
