Apologies to those who clicked this expecting a normal caption but I thought I'd try something a little different today and post some tips on caption creation. These are purely based on my own personal preferences and observations so you're welcome to disagree but I thought this might help some caption creators out there. If you have any other suggestions please feel free to post them in the comments and also please let me know if this helped at all, I may be inclined to make more!

Johnlav's Tips for Clear Readable captions!

1. Try using a bold sans-serif font.

2. Use a font color that doesn’t conflict with the background.

3. Increase your line height so that there is space between each line. An easy way to tell is to highlight the text and see if there is a visible gap between the highlighted lines.

4. If you are placing your text over an image, consider adding a text border or shadow for improved readability. This ensures that the text will be readable regardless of the image underneath it.

5. If your caption is quite text heavy, consider breaking it up into multiple smaller sections. Personally, I tend to restrict sections to one or two sentences.

6. If you’re struggling to fit all the text onto the page, consider splitting the caption into multiple parts.

7. Try to aim for your text to take up less than 50% of the image and still be readable.

8. To reduce typos and grammatical errors, run your text through a free text-checking service like Grammarly (app.grammarly.com/ )
