Description

This is artwork that was commissioned by the East Mississippi Veterans Foudation in Meridian, Mississippi to commemorate one of their RF-4C Phantom II reconnaissance aircraft. The plane in the foreground is being brought to the foundation's veteran's memorial park in Meridian, Mississippi, where it will be restored and displayed. The plane in the background wears markings commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 153rd Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron. Historic Key Field, where both planes were assigned, can be seen in the lower background. Prints of this artwork are being sold on my website, with the proceeds going toward restoring this aircraft.

I created the aircraft in 3DS Max, their textures in Photoshop, and the background landscape and environment in Eon Vue. I created the airport, its buildings, and small airplanes and vehicles in 3DS Max based on satellite images and reference images from Key Field and Meridian Airport.
