Nicola Steadman is feeling confident.

Very confident.

The anti-perspirant Miss Yarborough gave her on the last day of Summer Term seems to be working and the sweaty, malodorous armpits have failed to make an appearance despite the warm weather so Nicola feels like a girl reborn.

This'll show 'em! she repeats in her head as she gets ready for Nadia Swinley's birthday party. She has chosen a very daring dress to wear but she has the confidence to wear it well and be an absolute stunner while doing so. She has a suspicion she might be overdressed for the occasion but she does not care; her first year at St Tibb's was plagued with either veiled comments or outright insults about her BO problem and nothing she tried had made a difference. At least not until help came from the unlikeliest of places. Now that she has overcome the issue, Nicola feels there is nothing she cannot do with a body she no longer has a reason to be ashamed of.

Where's 'Stinky' Steadman now, eh Ronnie? She chuckles as she thinks about the reaction she expects many of her classmates---the rather caustic Veronica Passanante in particular---will have when their eyes and their noses tell them what a changed girl she is.

Whether or not the party is the great success she envisions it being, Nicola is sure she will be thanking Miss Yarborough when school resumes in September.
