At First Break and after visiting the locker area to drop off unneeded coats and jackets, some girls from 7C gather at the fountains to chat and gossip.

"So... you still didn't take your grandma's dress off, Leigh-Anne," Nadia says, indicating the old-fashioned button-up dress her friend is still wearing. "Are you going to show off that bikini today or are you having second thoughts?"

Leigh-Anne twists her mouth as she considers the situation. "Well, it's like... I didn't wanna take it off in Reg, not when Sir was, like, already totally cringing doing that talk about deodorants and personal hygiene and everything. He'd've died from embarrassment overload if I'd stripped off in the form room right there in front of him!"

"Hmm, true," Nadia says with a chuckle as she thinks about how uncomfortable the form master had looked as he tried informing the girls of 7C about the importance of maintaining cleanliness and minimizing strong odours of an anti-social nature, brought on by 'Stinky' Steadman's wearing a strappy top and allowing her BO to spread throughout the whole room. Almost everyone in the form now hopes that Nicola Steadman took the hint and will attend to the issue.

"Oh my god!" Zubaida says as she thinks about Registration Period. "She sits behind me in Reg and... ugh! This morning it was extra gross!" She pinches her nose, almost being able to smell her classmate's armpits again, over an hour later. "If she comes back after the Summer Break and she's still stinking up the place, I'm going to hold her down and smother her in anti-perspirant myself!"

Nadia and Leigh-Anne laugh. "I'll be there helping you, mate!" Nadia says.

"Y'know what... ?" Leigh-Anne begins after the shared laughter comes to an end. She waits for the other two to indicate that they don't know what, and after she receives a couple of shrugs and gestures to say she should carry on with her thought she continues: "I got my Pee-Ee stuff with me but I've decided... Imma do netball in my bikini! I reckon Yarborough'll totally freak. But what she gonna do? Rules says bikinis is allowed today, right?"

Nadia's mouth drops open. "Leigh! No!" she exclaims. "The Yarbs will totally fit over that!"

Leigh-Anne laughs. "That's what I'm hoping! Epic end to the Year, eh, girls?"

Zubaida and Nadia roll their eyes and share a look of horror as they think about how Miss Yarborough will react to one of her class participating in PE dressed in a bikini and not the required school kit.
