Felicity and Amanda continue laughing and having a riotous time in the back of Seamus's car as he drives to Amanda's house, dropping her off when they arrive.

As Amanda gets out of the car and heads towards her front door, Felicity shouts "I'll call later!" to which Amanda waves back and smiles before disappearing into her house.

Father and daughter return home, and by the time they get there Felicity's mood has turned somewhat sombre. "You've gone a bit quiet, love," Seamus points out. "Is your blood sugar a bit low, maybes?"

Felicity smiles at her dad's concern and shakes her head. "No, I don't think so. I'm just thinking about how I should be free to do all kinds of brill stuff over the next few weeks but... you know... I can't ." She sighs. "Well, I mean... I shouldn't, rather than I can't."

She goes up to her bedroom and removes the leather skirt she wore for No Uniform Friday, changing into some comfortable shorts suitable for playing with Wilberforce in the back garden.

The ominous flowers have been thrown out but she has kept the note that came with them. Who knows, perhaps there might be more clues pointing to who sent them still to be gleaned from it? She picks it up and reads it once more. The last part ('especially the kisses') never fails to send a shiver through her and she curls her lip at the thought of the man at the beach approaching her with the intention of kissing her. She hasn't even kissed her first boyfriend yet, so there is no way some random guy twice her age is going to steal that first-kiss moment away from her!

As she is staring at the note, causing a dozen thoughts to race across her mind, all of them forbidding and unwelcome, she hears a gentle knock on her door and snaps back to the present moment. "Yes?" she calls out. "Who is it?"

The door opens slightly and her mother's face peers around. "Your Dad said you were a bit quiet. Are you okay?" Paige asks and enters the room fully before waiting for Felicity's answer. She crosses the floor and stands close to her daughter.

"I'm okay, Mam," Felicity says with an expression that is only half-convincing. She lets out a sigh and looks at her mother with a wry smile.

"You should lock that thing away in a drawer or something," Paige says with a nod to the card. "It won't help staring at it so much." She gives Felicity a warm smile, full of maternal love, and moves closer, putting an arm around her daughter's shoulder. "Wilber's waiting downstairs for you. I've just taken him for his walk and he's full of energy. Put the card somewhere safe but out of the way, and come play with your cute puppy, yeah?"

"Okay, Mam, that sounds like a good plan," Felicity says and holds the card toward Paige with the intention that her mother find somewhere to put it.

Paige takes the card and smiles encouragingly at her daughter. Someone so young shouldn't be worrying like this, she thinks as she leaves the bedroom.
