Hypothesis:I really have just one original character, and my gallery is a result of failed attempts to reproduce it over the years.
But in all honesty, this is something that's been bugging me recently. I have difficulty drawing my own characters consistently! I don't know if this is the reason I keep making one shot characters or just a result of the practice.

Maybe if I practice drawing crappy manga I will get better at this.

Unfortunately if you want to be an animator, you literally have to do this right at least 90% of the time.

Yeah, that's always hard, especially if they're more detailed or have some asymetric element to their design. Just keep at it until you get used to it.

Sadly, the only way to maintain consistency is practice.
The only other piece of advice I can share is to consider a template or analytical observations of your character - so that you apply the necessary changes depending on the varied perspective.
