Welcome to Kissten Cafe! Today's servers are Caffy Latay and Makko Chanomae. Please do not touch them, as it is not only a violation of personal space, but they can reach internal temperatures of up to 96°C.

Caffy Latay is the insomniac daughter of a Milkman and an Espressa. Hot coffee is naturally secreted from the skin on her arms and legs, and is collected in her patented coffee skirt to be served to customers later. She doesn't normally secrete enough coffee to drip, but illness, stress, or holding her breath can cause it to run. Producing coffee sweat depletes her of a lot of water and potassium, so she needs to eat and drink frequently. Caffy literally has a fire in her belly for roasting beans (and anything else she eats, but mostly it's beans).

Makko Chanomae is of the Tea family of the Caffeine clan. Unlike her cousin Caffy, she doesn't have drinkable sweat, but she does produce tea from her sinuses! The brew fills her skull and helps to keeps her brain warm and hydrated, but it can also spill out if she sneezes or moves too quickly. This tea is not served to customers, because that is gross. Just use tea leaves, gosh. In any case, if Makko's brain dries out, she will become confused and disoriented until she gets some more water poured into her head.

The Kissten Cafe is a joint venture between the Coffee and Tea families of the age old Caffeine clan. The Coffee family's unique flavors paired with the Tea family's uh, consultation, has been the key to their continued success. They are a proud line of brewers steeped in rich history and tradition, masters of beverage without peer - except for perhaps their hated rivals, the Liquors. Confound those Liquor boys!

Well, looking at the dates, that took about 3 weeks to finish. One of the things I was trying to do with this piece was to focus on a theme (in this case, caffeine), but I don't think I hit the mark I was aiming for. I like how it turned out, but the ambiance has kind of turned into "garden!" instead of "cafe~." Had I framed this indoors at a table with some warm lighting I might have gotten a stronger piece, but I think I made the mistake of committing myself to their designs once I had them sketched, and so was unable to sacrifice their visibility for shots with more impact.

Well, I've spent enough time on this picture already, so I'll just call it done and keep in mind what I ought to do for the next time.
