Description "Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?"

First off, let me start by saying that this caught my eye like a few rare pieces do. It is stunning, to put it bluntly. The colours flow together well, and I love the way her hair blends from slight red to black to blue to a little bit of green to yellow. It truly gives the felling of the song for which this piece is named. My only complaints (and, please do not let me be shot for this, because this is truly a remarkable piece) is the fact that one side of her dress is higher than the other, creating a sense of uneveness (although, the hair may balance this out, depending on how you look at it) and her top lip seems a bit too close to the bottom of her nose...

There is nothing bad I can say about this. The technique you used for her hair was impeccable. As soon as I saw this I was speechless. I shadowing of skin is flawless. I think the only thing that bothers me a little is that one side of her dress is higher than the other, but that's just me. I love the way you did the leaves in the background, it gives off a very magical feeling to the piece. Also i love the detail on her lips and eyes! I feel like she could pop out of the page at anytime.

The overall view is magnificent. Loved the way you used watercolors. Loved her face sketch and neck as well as the colors and shading utilized. One thing I would change a little would be the cloth-like band on her arm; it needs a little more shading, more of the look of her dress.

Another thing I would change would be her necklace... add more jewel characteristics to it... maybe add a little green on top of the blue,,, I think the color of it was semi-turquoise ... kind of like the color of the blue meeting with the green in her hair. add more highlights to her necklace itself (the white gleam jewelry gets when the light hits it) and then add shading to her skin on the bottom portion/outline of the necklace to give it more depth!

GOOD JOB THOUGH!! She looks beautiful!!

This is definitely what you would called painting all the colors of the wind. With Pocahontas's hair waving through the wind and changing colors earns one of the most beautiful songs in Disney.

Although its been done before, but the imagery and making Pocahontas's appearance more human is very touching at the hearts of fans.

The art looks really great, unique, and bright. The colors is done well and the use of traditional skills works perfectly well done.

Pocahontas may be one of Disney's preachiest films that's considered mediocre, but with this painting, it made the movie even more watchable.

Beautiful use of colors. I love the strong facial expression contrasting the soft colors, good job with the hint of red in the hair. It makes the greens and blues pop more. You did a real good job with the necklace and the light source coming down evenly against her skin. The only thing that I think could of been different is the black outline on the tattoo makes it seem like it is an armband instead of ink on the skin. That said it is still a very nice original view of Disney's Pocahontas. I love it and will now be anxiously waiting to see more art from you!

This is my first critique ever! :3

The overall composition of the piece is ok, the colors you picked for the background are great, the blue makes it relaxing yet the yellow makes it eye catching. I like the leaves flying around and the dots give a nice touch.

Now, about Pocahontas, the colors in her hair are a nice touch. The shading in her skin is really good. The only thing about this piece is that you made mistakes on proportions. Her shoulders don't look ok, the position of her dress makes it look like if she is missing a boob. I don'y know if it's because of her necklace that her neck looks a bit too long.

In her face nose are mouth are aligned so they are ok. Her eyes, one is a little upper than the other one and one have to be careful with the positioning of the eyes cause they might ruin a really wonderful work. To finish I'm missing one of her ears and one cheek is way bigger than the other one.

Even though, it's a great work, i'm sure you put a lot of effort in it. Just remember to be careful with proportions.

I apologize if I have made a grammar/spelling mistake. Regards

This is lovely, and I like it a lot. The colors and blending in her hair is quite nice, and the leaves and pollen swirling around her is a nice touch. I also like her face, though she looks a little more Vietnamese than she does Native American.

Her neck and torso aren't so well done, unfortunately. The neck is quite long, and while its shading and detail isn't bad the rest of her body isn't shaded very much, which makes her look strangely doughy. Not fat - shapeless. It's a shame, because the rest of the picture is really quite nice.

I see that you've painted/drawn a glowing deer or buck, or what ever it is (sorry, im not very good with species) I was wondering how you got that effect of the glowing blue on the dark background. If you could help me, that would help a lot! thank you! Beautiful art by the way! Β

I love what you did with her hair, but yeah, if you were painting the Disney version (rather than the historical version, paintings show her with quite pale skin for a woman with no white lineage) her skin should be darker.
